Angela Hwang
Biography
Angela Hwang believes in making STEM easily accessible. Angela began her career in chemistry, earning a BS at Penn State and a Ph.D. at UCLA. During her graduate studies, she got her start in demystifying science by volunteering with a local outreach group to teach educators about nanoscience. She later moved on to Technovation (formerly Iridescent), a nonprofit focused on empowering STEM professionals to educate and inspire their local communities about their work. From there, she ran education and outreach programs out of an NSF-funded university network National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure at Stanford University. In 2021, Angela joined Synopsys as a Senior Staff Program Manager of Synopsys Academic & Research Alliances (SARA), where she works closely with academics and industry allies to create partnerships and programs that can empower students’ careers and find new paths to broaden participation in workforce development.
